Enrolling in and/or participating in a RiderCourse indicates that you have reviewed and agree to the policies, terms and conditions expressed on these pages.
COVID -19 POLICIES ARE FLUID AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE. CURRENTLY, PROOF OF VACCINATION IS NOT REQUIRED. SOCIAL DISTANCING IS ENCOURAGED WHERE POSSIBLE. DO NOT COME TO CLASS IF YOU HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO, ARE EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS OF, OR HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR, COVID – 19.
Your car license and/or motorcycle learner’s permit, as applicable must be valid during your course dates. By your enrollment/participation, you attest that your license/permit is free of restrictions, suspensions and revocations of any kind.
All students are responsible for bringing their own riding gear which shall include sturdy long pants/jeans (no yoga pants; no holes!), sturdy over-the-ankle footwear (like a hiking boot or a work boot, 1” above-the-ankle, NO SNEAKERS), full-fingered gloves, and sturdy long-sleeved shirt or jacket. If you come to class unprepared you will not be permitted to participate in the course and will be subject to forfeiture of the entire course fee.
All students must wear a motorcycle helmet and eye protection that meet DOT standards. Motorcycle helmets and eye protection are available to borrow, though students are encouraged to bring their own.
All students are required to sign a NYSMSP waiver and indemnification form when they arrive at class. You must familiarize yourself with their contents prior to your class; you are required to sign them in order to participate.
Students under age 18 will also need a parent’s signature on the waiver document. The parent or guardian can accompany the student to class and sign the form in the presence of the RiderCoach with proper identification (photo ID), or the student may bring the pre-signed forms to class so long as the parent’s signatures are notarized.

By DMV regulation, licensing classes require perfect attendance. If you fail to attend any of the classroom or riding sessions once the course begins, or are unprepared to ride for whatever reason, you will forfeit the entire course fee. You must attend ALL sessions of the course! There will be no exceptions. No refund or make-up classes will be guaranteed if you fail to meet the attendance requirements.
Classes take place “rain-or-shine”. The class may be canceled or rescheduled in the event of extreme weather conditions. The RiderCoaches will make that determination on that day, so you should show up for class no matter what.
You must allow additional time in your personal schedule for the possibility that inclement weather conditions or other circumstances preclude motorcycle riding and extend learning time.
There is no guarantee that a student will be successful in a RiderCourse. Students who are not successful on the knowledge test or skills evaluation (as applicable) will be given an opportunity to re-test at no charge. Re-tests must be taken within 30 days of your course completion date.
Any student that is unable to achieve the objectives of the range exercises within the allotted time, presents a hazard to him/herself or other students, or fails to abide by the course safety and instructional guidelines as set forth by the RiderCoaches will be counseled out of the class. If this should occur, you will forfeit the entire course fee.
Your course application is non-transferable.
There is a possibility that your class could be canceled due to insufficient enrollment or other circumstances beyond our control. If this should occur, you will be offered an opportunity to reschedule.
Please consider that you will be outdoors for extended periods in ambient weather conditions. You will spend a full day expending mental and physical energy as you learn new skills.
If you are particularly short, please contact our office so we can arrange for you to “try on” one of our training motorcycles a week or two before your class.
If you feel that there are motor skill ability, age, physical condition or language limitations that may limit your ability to learn to ride, please feel free to contact our office to discuss what provision can be made to assist you.
You may cancel your class on-line up to 24 hours before your class start date. If you are canceling your class, a refund will be issued, less a processing fee as outlined below. It may take a few days for the refund to post to your account.
To reschedule, first cancel your existing class, and then re-enroll in your new class. A link to reschedule/cancel is included in your confirmation email. IMPORTANT! If you reschedule to a different class, you MUST cancel your existing class or you will be charged for both classes!
If you cancel any class seven (7) or more days before your class start date, you will be charged a $20 processing fee.
If you cancel your BRC or BRC2-LW within seven (7) days of your scheduled course you will be charged a $100 processing fee. 3WBRC: $99 processing fee; BRC2: $50 processing fee; IME: $20 processing fee.
If you cancel any class within the 24 hours before your class start you will forfeit the entire course fee. The ability to cancel your class on-line will terminate at midnight one full calendar day prior to your course start date.
If an emergency comes up and you need to cancel within the 24 hours prior to your class start, please notify us by telephone: 315-858-3321. If we are able to find a last-minute new-student enrollment to fill your vacated spot, we will reduce the cancellation processing fee to the “within 7 days-notice” amount: $100 for the BRC or BRC2-LW; $99 for the 3WBRC; $50 for the BRC2, or $20 for the IME.
If you would be interested and available to move to an earlier course date than the one for which you are scheduled…
Our enrollment system will accommodate a limited number persons to be waitlisted per class. Visit our enrollment system to place your name on a waitlist for a particular course date. Please limit your waitlist sign-ups to a single class. People on the waitlist will be notified in order with a 30-minute window between notifications. After that, the open spot will be made available to the general public. The spot will show as available until someone enrolls and claims it. A waitlist notification is not a guarantee of a spot in that class; you must respond to the notification and enroll in the new class date to secure the spot. If you sign up to fill a waitlisted spot, you MUST remember to cancel your existing class, or you will be charged for both classes. The enrollment system will not automatically cancel your original class. You must do that manually. Cancellation fees will apply.
Naturally, if your personal schedule changes and you learn that you will no longer be available on your waitlisted dates, we ask that you remove your name from the waitlist to make room for someone else.
Check back on our website periodically; additional classes may be added. If you reschedule to a different class, you MUST cancel your existing class or you will be charged for both classes! Cancellation fees will apply.
NOTE: If your scheduled class starts within the next 7 days, and you reschedule to a class that starts even earlier in the next 7 days (for example, you were scheduled for a Thursday start date, but rescheduled to the Monday class that starts three days earlier), please call our office to cancel your original class as the enrollment system will charge the larger “within the week” cancellation fee. In this circumstance, we will reduce the cancellation fee to $20.
If the waitlist quota has been reached, or you are unable to commit to a specific class date to waitlist for, but are generally interested in moving up to an earlier class date, please send us an email and indicate what your preference is by course type, location and day preferences.
For example, “I’m registered for the BRC on June 7-8. I’m interested in moving to an earlier weekend class in Utica. The best way to reach me is by text, 315-XXX-XXXX”; we’ll do our best to keep you in mind.
BRC students must know how to ride a bicycle.

BRC2-LW students must provide a street-legal motorcycle or scooter; it must have a valid NYS Inspection Certificate attached and pass the RiderCoaches’ safety inspection.
BRC2-LW students must present a valid motorcycle registration.
BRC2-LW students must present a valid motorcycle insurance card.
BRC2-LW students that are using a borrowed motorcycle for the class must bring a notarized letter from the owner providing written permission for its use.
3WBRC students must have a valid car driver’s license at the time of their class.
3WBRC students are required to complete the online ePackage 1 eCourse no more than 30 days prior to their scheduled class date.
Promotional course rates only apply to students that use the 3-wheeled motorcycles we provide for training or students that provide their own Can Am 3-wheeler. Students may provide their own trike-style (one wheel in front; two in back) motorcycle for training, but the non-subsidized full tuition of $321 will apply.
Sidecar rigs and sit-inside/car-style 3-wheelers are not permitted.
All BRC students must know how to ride a bicycle.
All IME students must have a valid driver’s license or learner’s permit (for car or motorcycle) at the time of their class.
BRC2 students must have a valid NYS motorcycle license.
BRC2 students must provide a street-legal motorcycle or scooter; it must have a valid NYS Inspection Certificate attached and pass the RiderCoaches’ safety inspection.
BRC2 students must present a valid motorcycle registration.

Use own bike and waiver no changes

- an engine displacement of 500cc or less
- a dry, unladen weight of 400 pounds or less
- a seat height of 30” or less
Motorcycles that have been modified or that have had aftermarket equipment added to conform to the criteria above may not be used as training motorcycles.
In addition, students using their own motorcycle in the BRC:
- Must have a valid motorcycle license or a motorcycle learner’s permit with a supervising driver
- Are responsible for any damage to their motorcycle or equipment as a result of their participation in the BRC
- Will be subject to a motorcycle inspection before class to detect defects that could impair handling or control in accordance with the T-CLOCS inspection
Students may supply their own Class A scooter that meets the above criteria and conditions.
Note: If you have a motorcycle that meets all the above criteria, it is probably very similar to our training motorcycles. Why not use a bike we provide and remove the hassles of transporting your bike, wear-and-tear or other damage? Go Motorcycling, Inc. does not provide scooters for use in the BRC.
In the case that a motorcycle has been modified to accommodate a physical disability, please contact our office; such cases will be evaluated by NYSMSP on a case-by-case basis.
Students must notify the training site at least one week in advance of their course date if they choose to use their own motorcycle/scooter in the BRC.
Participation in this course requires physical stamina, motor coordination, and mental alertness. By enrolling in a RiderCourse, the participant hereby attests that he/she has no known physical or mental limitations and has not used any form of alcohol, prescription or non-prescription drugs that could impair his/her performance in this course. Participants under 18 years of age must have this form signed by a parent or guardian, either in person at the training location or this form must be notarized. (a printed version will be available in your confirmation materials)
I. READ CAREFULLY: THIS SECTION IS A LEGAL RELEASE, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, WAIVER AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE AGREEMENT
In consideration of Go Motorcycling, Inc., the State of New York, the New York State Motorcycle Safety Program, the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, BRP, the owner of the training motorcycle, and the owner of the land upon which training occurs, including their members, employees, officers and/or agents (the “Safety Course Providers”), furnishing services, equipment, and/or curriculum to enable me to participate in the Motorcycle Safety Course, I agree as follows:
I fully understand and acknowledge that: (a) there are DANGERS AND RISK OF INJURY, DAMAGE, OR DEATH that exist in my use of motorcycles and motorcycle equipment and my participation in the Motorcycle Safety Course activities; (b) my participation in such activities and/or use of such equipment may result in injury or illness including, but not limited to, BODILY INJURY, DISEASE, STRAINS, FRACTURES, PARTIAL OR TOTAL PARALYSIS, OTHER AILMENTS THAT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS DISABILITY, OR DEATH; (c) these risks and dangers may be caused by the negligence of the Safety Course Providers; the negligence of others, including other Safety Course participants; and may arise from foreseeable or unforeseeable causes; and (d) by participating in these activities and/or using the equipment, I, on behalf of myself, my personal representatives and my heirs, hereby assume all risks and all responsibility, and agree to release the Safety Course Providers for any injuries, losses and/or damages, including those caused solely or in part by the negligence of the Safety Course Providers, or any other person. If I have brought a motorcycle to use in the Safety Course, I also agree that this release applies to any damage that occurs to it during the Safety Course.
I agree and understand that, on behalf of myself, my personal representatives and my heirs, I am relinquishing any and all rights I now have or may have in the future to sue the Safety Course Providers for any and all injury, damage, or death I may suffer arising from motorcycle riding or its equipment, including claims based on the Safety Course Providers’ negligence.
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE AGREEMENT AND BY ENROLLING IN A RIDERCOURSE I AGREE TO ASSUME ALL RISKS AND RELEASE THE ABOVE-NAMED SAFETY COURSE PROVIDERS FROM LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR WRONGFUL DEATH CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE OR ANY OTHER CAUSE. I have had the opportunity to ask any questions about the above waiver and release and I understand its terms and meaning.
II. READ CAREFULLY: THIS SECTION IS AN INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
In consideration of Go Motorcycling, Inc., the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, BRP, the owner of the training motorcycle, and the owner of the land upon which training occurs, including their members, employees, officers and/or agents (the “Safety Course Providers”), furnishing services, equipment, and/or curriculum to enable me to participate in the Motorcycle Safety Course, I agree as follows:
I, on behalf of myself, my personal representatives and my heirs, agree to hold harmless, defend, and indemnify the Safety Course Providers from any and all claims, suits, or causes of action by others for bodily injury, property damage, or other damages which may arise out of my use of motorcycles and motorcycle equipment or my participation in the Motorcycle Safety Course activities, including claims arising from the Safety Course Providers’ or any other party’s negligence.
I HAVE READ THIS INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT AND BY ENROLLING IN A RIDERCOURSE I AGREE TO ACCEPT LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY AND PAY FOR ANY LOSS FOR CLAIMS OR LAWSUITS AGAINST THE ABOVE-NAMED SAFETY COURSE PROVIDERS ARISING FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN THE MOTORCYCLE SAFETY COURSE. I have had the opportunity to ask any questions about the indemnification and hold harmless section and I understand its terms and meaning.
